Why Ladder Safety Training is Non-Negotiable

Statistics show that nearly 40% of all height-related workplace injuries involve the incorrect use of a ladder. While often perceived as a 'simple' tool, the industrial ladder requires specialized knowledge to operate safely in high-stakes environments. ### The True Cost of Accidents Beyond the physical harm to employees, ladder-related incidents incur massive costs in terms of medical expenses, legal liabilities, and lost productivity. A single fall can derail a company's safety record and financial stability. ### Critical Training Areas: 1. **Selection**: Choosing the right ladder (A-frame, extension, or platform) for the specific task and weight load. 2. **Setup**: The 4-to-1 rule, surface stability, and securement. 3. **Behavior**: Three points of contact, center-of-gravity management, and avoiding overreach. ### The TLTA Approach Our training focuses on the 'operational reality' of ladder use. We teach workers not just the rules, but the physics of why those rules exist. When a worker understands how a ladder fails, they are far less likely to take risks.
