40 Years of Uncompromising Safety

Rob Urquhart, owner of TLTA, has been a cornerstone of the work at height industry for over four decades. His journey is defined by a relentless pursuit of safety and legislative excellence.

Grounding his training in operational reality, Rob also owns Ultra High Level Cleaning Services, a company that utilizes ladders almost every day. This daily engagement ensures his training methods are not just theoretical, but battle-tested and practical.

National Industry Leadership

Rob is a founding member of the Institute for Work at Height (IWH). He serves as the Chair of the Aluminum Towers & Ladder chamber and is a Director of the IWH board.

As one of the few Subject Matter Experts on ladder use in South Africa, Rob has been a member of SABS TC214 for over 24 years and was personally responsible for the proposal and adoption of EN131 as a South African National Standard (SANS).

Educational & Regulatory Impact

Rob was an original member of the Standards Generating Body (SGB) for the Cleaning & Hygiene chamber of the Services SETA when they were first formed. He has continued his contribution as the IWH representative on the SSETA working committee.

A Passion for Training

Rob's passion is safety in the work at height industry, particularly regarding ladders. He has presented extensively at AOSH, Cleantex, and to the MBA North. He also trained MBA safety cadets on ladder safety through an official IWH programme.

With his vast range of experience and knowledge, there is no better person to train people on where, when and how to use ladders safely.
